Pauline (Laug) Rinne

Pauline Rinne, 86, of Tecumseh, (formerly of rural Steinauer), passed away Friday evening, June 10, 2016.  She was born November 29, 1929 on the family farm near Vesta, Nebraska to William and Bertha (Baucke) Laug.  Pauline was baptized December 22, 1929 and confirmed April 2, 1944 at the St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed Church, Maple Grove.  She attended Rural School District 8 near Vesta through the eighth grade. 

On October 18, 1950 Pauline was united in marriage to Leo Rinne at St. Paul's United Church of Christ (Maple Grove), rural Tecumseh, Nebraska.  To this union five daughters were born.  The couple made their home on a farm northwest of Steinauer.  After their marriage, Pauline became a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church.

Pauline worked beside Leo in the daily farming and dairy operation.  She was a longtime member of the St. Peter's Dorcas Society  and the quilting group.  She was a leader of the Mother's Helpers 4-H Club for many years.  She belonged to Lutherans for Life and Aid Association for Lutherans.  

Pauline was loving and truthful.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, making cookies, sewing, quilting, embroidery, gardening and wood working.  She loved the Christmas season and thoroughly enjoyed decorating the inside of her house and the farm for all to see.  In her retirement, Pauline enjoyed many bus trips across the United States. 

When she was no longer able to live on the farm, Pauline became a resident at Ridgeview Towers in Tecumseh in August, 2013.  She transferred to Belle Terrace in November, 2014.  She passed away at the Johnson County Hospital in Tecumseh on June 10, 2016 at the age of 86 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Leo (Oct. 18, 1989), two infant daughters, brother Clarence Laug and sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Delmar Bartels.

Pauline is survived by her daughters, Arnette and husband Jerry Garris of Lincoln, NE, Kathy and husband Bruce Sohnholz of Johnson, NE and Janet and husband Keith Bohling of Johnson, NE, grandchildren, Corey and wife Cyndia Garris, Meggan Garris, Kelsey and Jessica Bohling; great grandchildren, Ava, Rylee and Josiah, sister-in-law, Merla Laug of Tecumseh, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church, southwest of Elk Creek, NE with Rev. Jason Wolter officiating.   Visitation will be at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska, Monday, June 13, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may go to the St. Peter's Lutheran Church.  Interment will be in the St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, rural Elk Creek, Nebraska.  Online condolences may be left @ www.wherrymortuary.com.
