Johnny as we knew him was a kind, gentle soul who cared a lot both for people and animals. Lois' dad, a farmer, once said that "you can tell a lot about a man by how he treats his animals." That undoubtedly was true of Johnny in a very positive way. Lois had two uncles who gave meaning to this saying. One had a gruff voice and didn't seem to care about his animals. The other had a kind voice who "treated his animals" well. When one of them stepped foot on our farm our dog greeted them appropriately. I can't help but wonder how sad Johnny's farm friends must be without seeing him and hearing his voice. Not only were people blessed by Johnny's time on earth, but the animals in his life as well. Cherish the memories of the time you had with him in your lives.
