She attended Humboldt High School where she played the bass drum in the band.  She graduated from Humboldt High School in 1941.  She married Robert F. Weaver in 1942.  To this union three children were born, Robert J. (Bob), John William (Jack) and Linda Jean.  After Robert returned from WWII, the family moved to Maryland.  They returned to Humboldt in the 1960’s.  They moved again to the east coast in 1981 for the sake of Robert’s health.  After his death in 1984, Maxine again returned to Humboldt.  She worked for O.    Maxine joined the United Methodist Church of Humboldt in 1933.  Whenever she resided in Humboldt, she was active in the church.  She was famous for the sweet-potato pies she baked for church dinners. Maxine loved to play cards and was a member of a couples’ club and a ladies’ club where she excelled at pinochle and pitch. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary. She was a long-time member of the Humboldt Hospital Board and the hospital auxiliary.  She fought to keep the hospital open as long as possible.  After she was in Colonial Acres, she watched the transformation of the hospital into the fire hall from her window.  She stayed interested in the community.
