Wesley Eugene Snyder, Jr. was born to Wesley and Bonnie (Walbridge) Snyder, Sr. on March 9, 1961 in Pensacola, Florida, while his father was in the service. His father passed away when he was three years old. Later his mother married Edward Neher. His family lived in Lincoln, Nebraska and he attended Lincoln High School and later Pine Ridge in the Job Corps.
He was united in marriage to Marvel Albright at the Christian Church in Lincoln on September 30, 1979. Wesley was born and raised in the Catholic Church and later re-baptized in the Presbyterian Church. Marvel and Wesley made their home in Lincoln where they raised their family. They were attending Christ Place Church in Lincoln in their later years.
He was very hard working and over the years he worked at K-Mart, cooking at Misty’s and Village Inn in Lincoln, at McDonalds and Sonic to provide for his family. In 2007 he and Marvel moved to Dunbar to open the new Walmart Store in Nebraska City, returned briefly to Lincoln and later made Dunbar their home.
In his spare time, Wesley enjoyed crocheting, watching old time westerns on t.v. while eating popcorn, and was an active bowler at Hollywood Lanes in Lincoln and Arbor Lanes in Nebraska City.
He passed away at the Good Samaritan Center in Syracuse, Nebraska on September 7, 2024 at the age of 63 years.
Wesley is survived by his wife Marvel of Dunbar, daughter Kaylynn Snyder and husband Paul, son Kristion Snyder, step-brothers Steven Bailey and wife Nancy of Sioux Falls, SD, Kelly Neher and wife Kathleen of Bellevue and Galen Neher of MN, numerous nieces and nephews, brother-in-law Rev. Jerry D. Albright of Lincoln and nephews Jonathan and Jeffery Albright and his two beloved dogs Smoky and Star.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Edward Neher and several siblings.
A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. on September 30, 2024 at Christ Place Church, 1111 Old Cheney, which would have been their 46th wedding anniversary.
