Wayne Lee Jacobsen

Wayne L. Jacobsen, 87, of Tecumseh, Nebraska, passed away September 14, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Center in Beatrice, Nebraska.  He was born to Albert and Musie (Maranello) Jacobsen on November 21, 1933 at Murdock, Nebraska. As a child, Wayne, went by "Bus", which was short for Buster.  His family still call him that today.
Wayne went to school in Murdock, NE, before joining the Army in 1956.  He was stationed in Germany, where he was a pistol sharpshooter and rifle marksman.  He broke his leg, and then cross-trained as a clerk.
Upon returning home in 1958, he met and married Naomi Strayer.  They were married 16 years and had four children, Teresa, Marty, Tony, and Lori.
Wayne loved playing guitar, and was in a few different bands. 
He worked for Caterpillar, until opening his own business, Tecumseh Heavy Equipment Repair, in 1980.  He operated that business until he retired in 2004.
He married LaRue Seitz on August 12,1976.  They had 45 years together until she passed, just this March 2021.  
They enjoyed many vacations together.  They were both very creative people.  LaRue being a painter, and Wayne making sculptures out of welding rods, nuts and bolts, anything he could weld together.  They enjoyed sharing their creations with family and friends.
Wayne is survived by his children, Robin, Marty, Tony and Lori Jacobsen, step-children, Robert Seitz (Beverly), Tom Seitz (June), Elaine Johnson (Glenn), Brad Seitz (Patty),      sister-in-law-Donna Jacobsen,  8 grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren,  2 great-grandchildren, 16 step-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, LaRue Jacobsen, daughter, Teresa Michele Jacobsen, brothers, Albert Jr, and Marvin and sisters, Marguerite, Lucile, Byrdine, Thelma, and Betty.    

                      
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 2, 2021 at the United Methodist Church in Tecumseh, Nebraska with Rev. Angie Vertz officiating.  The service was live streamed on the Wherry Mortuary/Wherry Monument Facebook page and a link to the livestream is now available at the bottom of Wayne's webpage.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 1, 2021 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska.

Memorials may go to the family's choice.

Inurnment will be in the Tecumseh Cemetery, Tecumseh, Nebraska, with full military rites by the Army National Guard Funeral Honors Team and the Tecumseh VFW Post #8221 and Legion Post #2.
