Vicky Lynn (Goings) Mahoney

 Vicky Lynn Mahoney was born to Harley and Frances (Rieken) Goings, Sr. on July 9, 1955 in Nebraska City, Nebraska.  She was raised in Tecumseh and graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1973.  She then attended Hastings Community College where she received her dental assisting degree.

Vicky worked as dental assistant for Dr. Penny in Auburn for several years.  Later in her life she drove the Frito Lay product truck route for a few years before owning and managing Vic’s Steakhouse in Tecumseh, where Vicky loved seeing her customers and friends.  She then worked for Smart Chicken in Tecumseh; a job Vic also really enjoyed. 

Vic especially loved golfing and babysitting for her two grandchildren, Edwin and Summer.  They were the light of her life on a daily basis for the past few years of her life.

She passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 6, 2020 at the age of 64 years.  Vic will be deeply missed by her many friends and family.

Left to miss her beautiful smile are her son, Jeff Mahoney, daughter, Lindy Mahoney and longtime partner Chad Keslar, grandchildren Edwin and Summer Keslar, her parents, Harley and Frances Goings, Sr., sister, Theresa Borrenpohl and husband Jim and brother, Harley Goings, Jr and wife Maureen “Mo” all of Tecumseh, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

(In an effort to provide some comfort to the family of Vic during the pandemic, family and friends are encouraged to attend "CRUISIN' FOR VIC" Cruise Night on Friday, April 10th.  We will gather at the square in Tecumseh at 6:30 p.m. and head out to Vic's parents house where the family can be safely greeted as we do a drive-by and share our love for Vic!!  Feel free to decorate your vehicles and there will be a receptacle at the end of the driveway if you choose to leave a card or remembrance.  After Tecumseh, the cruise night will then continue to Elk Creek and Steinauer.) 

Private family services will be held due to the Covid-19 restrictions. 

A public celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
