Vicky L (Wilkinson) Little

Vicky Lyne (Wilkinson) Little, 70, of Crab Orchard, died in her home on April 17, 2021.  She was born Nov. 27, 1950 in Beatrice, Nebraska, the eldest daughter of Howard and Helen (Clutter) Wilkinson.  Vicky graduated from Lewiston Consolidated Schools in 1969 and attended UNL where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.

She was united in marriage to Junior Little on January 8, 1972 and they lived in Lincoln while she finished her education degree.  To this marriage were born two sons, Dylan and Clint.  Junior and Vicky moved to the farm in Crab Orchard and she started her first teaching job at a one-rom country school Saunders Creek near rural Burr, Nebraska.  Vicky taught at Lewiston Consolidated School for 38 years as a kindergarten and first grade teacher.  Vicky loved, and was loved by her students. She had many favorite stories of teaching and of her students.  One special thing Vicky did every year was buy white tennis shoes that her students signed and Vicky wore in her classroom.  She retired in 2013 to spend time with her five grandkids. 

Vicky is survived by sons and daughters in law, Dylan and Amy Little of Crab Orchard and their sons, Colt and Garrett and Clint and Miranda Little of Louisville and their three children, Easton, Aiden and Raleigh, sisters, Julie and Wayne Reiman of Lewiston, MT and Kathy Wilkinson and Bill Harrington of Billings, MT, brothers Jay Wilkinson and wife Brenda of Walton and Casey Wilkinson of Africa, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives scattered throughout Nebraska and the Midwest.

Vicky was preceded in death by her husband Junior, (Nov. 20, 2018), parents, Howard and Helen Wilkinson and sister-in-law, Marilyn Wilkinson. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska with Rev. Ken Tubbesing officiating. The service will be livestreamed on the Wherry Mortuary/Wherry Monument Facebook page and a link to the service is also available at the bottom of her webpage.  

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska. 

Memorials may go to the family’s choice.

Interment will be in the Vesta Cemetery, rural Tecumseh, Nebraska.
