Viannah L. (Hothan) Siske was born to John and Bertha (Baake) Hothan on August 12, 1922 on a farm near Steinauer, Nebraska. She was baptized by Rev. Herman Krueger and confirmed by Rev. E. Tischhauser both at Salem United Church of Christ. She attended District 45 school. Viannah enjoyed working on the farm with her family.
Viannah was united in marriage to Loren Siske on August 29, 1948 at St. Paul’s U.C.C., Maple Grove. This union was blessed with one daughter, Barbara.
Viannah worked at the Campbell’s Soup Company, St. Andrew School and the Johnson County Hospital before retiring. She enjoyed cooking, walking, working in her yard and visiting with friends. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She passed away at Gold Crest in Adams, Nebraska on December 4, 2023 at the age of 101.
She is survived by her daughter Barbara and husband Paul Campbell, sister-in-law Wilmeta Powell and nieces and nephews.
Viannah was preceded in death by her parents, husband Loren (1984), sister Alma Baucke and Lauretta Hothan and brothers William, Ervin, Raymond, Ernest and Arthur Hothan.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 9, 2023 at the Salem United Church of Christ, rural Steinauer, Nebraska with Pastor Ken Tubbesing officiating. The service will also be livestreamed on the Wherry Mortuary Facebook page for those unable to attend.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2023 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Memorials may go to the family’s choice.
Interment will be in the Salem U.C.C. Cemetery, rural Steinauer, Nebraska.
