Tony Lee Kunzman

Anthony "Tony" Lee Kunzman, 66, of Firth, passed away May 9, 2019 in Lincoln, Nebraska.  He was born to Duane and Alice (Heitman) Kunzman on Sept. 8, 1952 in Indianapolis, Indiana.  He lived in Laurel, Nebraska till the family moved to Tecumseh in 1970, where he graduated in 1971 and later graduated from the University of Kearney.

Tony worked for the Tecumseh Chieftain, Martin Lutheran Home (Mosaic) in Beatrice and the Lincoln Correctional Center as supervisor of the wood shop.  After his retirement, Tony worked part-time for the Bennet/Palmyra School and for The Voice in Hickman, Nebraska.  In his spare time, Tony enjoyed going to flea markets, swap meets and car shows and talking about old cars.  One of his greatest joys was refurbishing cars.

Tony is survived by his daughter, Joy, sisters, Sheila Kelly and husband Greg of Papillion and Teri Pendell of Beatrice, sister-in-law, Linda Baum and husband Bill of Tecumseh; nieces, Jennifer Kelly of Washington D.C. and Gesena Pangborn and husband Matt of Beatrice, nephews, Dane Pendell of Beatrice, Shawn Kunzman of Humboldt, Joseph Kunzman and wife Jennifer of Elk Creek and Jeremy Kunzman of Washington, KS; three great-nieces and two great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Michael “Mick” and Dan “Festus” Kunzman.

 A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tecumseh, Nebraska with Father Craig Clinch officiating.

 A register book will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2019 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska.

 Memorials may go to the family’s choice.

 Inurnment will be in the St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery, rural Tecumseh, Nebraska.
