Steven Peters Obituary

Steven Wayne Peters passed away April 21st in his home with his devoted loving wife, Sheryl, by his side. Steve was born May 23, 1958 in Abilene Kansas to Alvin Emil Peters and Yvonne Lucille Dallen.

Steve met the love of his life Sheryl (Taylor) Sunneberg at the VFW Club in Pawnee City while she was employed there. They were married August 30, 2003 in Texas on a lake in Jasper County. They lived in Wichita, Kansas before moving back to Pawnee City, Nebraska.

Steve attended several different schools due to his family moving around a lot.

Steve was in outside parts and service sales for Murphy Tractor & Equipment in Wichita for 20 plus years before moving back to Pawnee City.

Steve loved motorcycle rides and hunting. He especially loved hunting for turkeys. Steve had a fond love for pets as well. Sheryl was always trying to bring stray cats home and would bug Steve until he finally caved. Those strays became his companions. Steve loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Steve was a very caring loving person who put others before himself. Steve held a lot in, never wanted to hurt anyone or their feelings. He would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need. He was a great cook, as that was one of his favorite things to do. Steve loved driving Amish families to places they needed to go and spending time with them visiting and playing pranks on certain ones.

Steve was proceeded in death by mother Yvonne (Dallen) Klepper, father Alvin “Pete” Peters, stepdad Bob Spier, stepbrothers Larry and Dale Spier, and father-in-law Kenneth “Butch” Taylor.

Survivors include wife Sheryl (Taylor) Peters of Pawnee City. Son (Stepson) Mark Sunneberg Jr (Brittany) of Pawnee City, Nebraska. Son Tanner Sides (Angela) of Amarillo, Texas. Son Jared Peters (Mesha) of Owasso, Oklahoma. Grandkids Trystan, Brayden, Kaylon, Kingston and Melahny Peters of Owasso, Oklahoma. Kenzie Seaton and husband of Washington D.C.
