Shirley Faye Kroeze

Shirley Faye Kroeze, 80, leaped into the arms of Jesus on Friday, April 24, 2026, in Louisiana, Missouri. Born on February 16, 1946, in Tecumseh, Nebraska, Shirley was a woman of immense faith and resilience who believed that with God, all things were possible.

Though Shirley faced significant physical challenges—including complete blindness, profound hearing loss, and a recent stroke—she lived a life defined by victory rather than limitation. She maintained her independence for many years at her home in Lincoln, Nebraska. Her big dreams never faded; even in her final year, she spoke of purchasing and restoring another historic home, a testament to her enduring passion for landscaping and renovation. In her years of sight, she was a gifted artist and a talented cook who loved nothing more than preparing a good meal for those she held dear.

A graduate of Tecumseh High School, Shirley earned a degree in accounting and dedicated seventeen years of her career to the Nazarene Publishing House (The Foundry) in Kansas City. Shirley’s heart was always with her family. She was known for her marathon telephone conversations, catching up on every detail of the lives of those she loved.

She is survived by her sisters, Sylvia Henry and Eleanor Hill; her sister-in-law, Cathy Kroeze; and her brothers, Darrel (Diane) Kroeze, Jim (Martha) Kroeze, and Jon (Mary-Lou) Kroeze, along with a grand host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Loren Walter; her parents, John and Lela Kroeze; and her siblings, Bernard, Shelia, and Gary.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026, at the Tecumseh Cemetery, on Highway 50 on the south edge of town.  Rev. Jon Kroeze will officiate the service as we celebrate a life lived with courage, creativity, and unwavering faith. A link to the livestream is now available here:
