Roy Arnold Chauza

Roy Arnold Chauza, age 78, of DuBois, Nebraska passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024, at his home in DuBois.  He was born on January 10, 1946, to Arnold Frank and Velma Viola (Blecha) Chauza in Pawnee City, Nebraska. He grew up southwest of DuBois, Nebraska on the Chauza family farm.  Roy attended DuBois Country School House District # 72 and Pawnee City High School.

Roy married Marjorie Lynn Korber on November 13, 1966, in Seneca, Kansas and they moved to Lincoln, Nebraska.  To this union two children, Kimberly Lynn and Michael Roy were born. In 1969, they moved to Bennet, Nebraska.  He was a  brick mason and owned R.C. Masonry.  In 1986, they sold their home and moved to Cape Coral, Florida where Roy owned a lawncare and landscaping service called R.C. Lawn Service.  In Roy’s younger years, he enjoyed fishing, motorcycles, going to garage sales and flea markets.  He also enjoyed gardening, tinkering in his garage, and visiting with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Arnold Chauza, mother Velma Boomgaarn, and brother Melvin Chauza.

Roy is survived by his wife, Marjorie Chauza of Cape Coral, FL; daughter, Kimberly Erickson (Gregg Shaw) of Lincoln, NE; son, Michael (Sharene) Chauza of Fort Ogden, FL;  grandchildren: Katie Butts, Taylor Erickson, Chelsea Chauza, great-grandchildren: Roy Jr. Bivans and Gage Bivans, brothers: Albert (Ardell) Chauza of Table Rock, NE; Chuck Chauza of DuBois, NE; sisters: Luella Hinrichsen of DuBois, NE; Mary (Norman) Barker of DuBois, NE; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday July 8, 2024, at Wherry Mortuary, 919 G Street, in Pawnee City, Nebraska with Pastor Howard Blecha officiating. No visitation. Inurnment will follow services in the DuBois Cemetery, DuBois, Nebraska.  Memorials contributions to family's choice with a later designation.
