Her family moved to Lincoln, Nebraska when she was a young girl.  She was proud of her German heritage and Lincoln provided the opportunity to interact with other German families and had ample Runza resources.  She attended Lincoln Northeast High School until her Senior year, when she transferred to Ceresco High School.   She later attended the C.E. Her first job was at Bankers Life in Lincoln.  She then became a military spouse and mother, stationed in Berlin Germany.  She traveled throughout Europe while stationed there, enjoying many of the cultural experiences the country has to offer.

Roxie moved to Pawnee City in 1974.   She raised her children and also babysat for other families out of the family home during that time, due to her love of children and strong maternal instincts. Roxie’s hobbies included traveling, spending time with friends, attending her kid’s activities and her grandkids activities, membership in the LNO club, bowling, listening to country music and attending concerts, and visiting the local casinos of which she was a Diamond Member.
