Ronald Badertscher Obituary

Ronald "Ron" Badertscher, 64, of rural Tecumseh, Nebraska passed away February 15, 2022 at Bryan East Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was born to Eldon and Aloma (Heideman) Badertscher on November 22, 1957 in Pawnee City, Nebraska.  Ron was baptized on December 15, 1957 and confirmed May 21, 1972 by Rev. R. F. Rinne at the St. Paul's United Church of Christ (Maple Grove) where he was a lifetime member.  He attended Stoney Point country school through the second grade and then transferred to Tecumseh Public Schools where he graduated with the class of 1976.  Ron helped with mowing the church cemetery over the years.

He grew up on the family farm where he enjoyed farming with his father Eldon for many years.  Ron loved collecting antique tractors and plows and participated in the Camp Creek and Deer Creek Sodbusters annual gatherings.  He did custom wheat harvesting for one year with Stan Gottula.  Ron had just bought a 4-wheel drive Case tractor last fall and loved driving it around the section.  He was very proud of that tractor.  Ron loved his calico cat, Topaz or "Pazz" for short.  He especially loved spending time with his nieces and nephews.  Ron was rather quiet and unassuming and a special brother and good friend, who will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his sister Carol Ehlers of Steinauer and brothers Randy Badertscher of Bern, KS and Royce Badertscher and wife Nancy of Tecumseh, sister-in-law Joyce Badertscher of Tecumseh, aunts, Leona Beethe of Elk Creek, Ruth Bray of Tecumseh and Erma Wright of Lincoln and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, brother Roger, brother-in-law John Ehlers and great-nephew Braden Badertscher.
