Rollyn Dean “Stretch” Wiebe, age 75, of Pawnee City, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025. Rollyn was born in Beatrice, Nebraska on December 17, 1949 to William G. and Alvina (Scheiding) Wiebe. He was raised on a farm outside of DeWitt by his uncle Ray Scheiding. He graduated from Beatrice High School, Fairbury Junior College, and also attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln.
Rollyn found joy in the simple pleasures of life. A passionate fisherman and deer hunter, he cherished the time spent outdoors, where he felt most at peace. His love for the Nebraska Huskers was unwavering, whether listening to the games on the radio, watching them on TV, or attending live events - his heart was always with the Big Red. As a farmer and cabinet maker, Rollyn was known for his dedication and craftsmanship. Whether working the land or creating beautiful pieces of furniture, he took great pride in his work. He had a special bond to his beloved golden retriever, Buddy, and his cherished pet cow, Dolly. Their companionship brought him immense joy and comfort over the years.
Rollyn is preceded in death by his parents, uncle Raymond and aunt Theresa and grandchild Andrew Bernadt.
Rollyn is survived by his wife Deberah Hanna, children Heath (Montica) LaRue, Heidi (Aaron) Wubbels, Hilary (Ryan) Huschka, Holten Wiebe, step-children Missy (Brian) Droge, Angie (Kyle) McCollam, Valerie (Dave) Schmitz, Addie (Brent) Heusman, Vanessa (Ben) Briggs, Grandchildren: Chase (Brittany) and Chelsie LaRue, Austin (Lilly), Tanner (Alivia), Wyatt, Savannah, Jordan, Lainey and Hadlee Wubbels, Peyton, Camryn, and Hudson Huschka, Clayton (Bailey), Madison, and Mallory Branek, Miranda (Kyle) Haverkamp, Preston (Camrie) Sparling, Bradie (Jackson) McCoole, Hanna, Halie, and Landon Schmitz, Fletcher, Crew, and Maddox Heusman, and 8 great-grandchildren.
Celebration of Life will be held from 2- 5 p.m., Sunday, April 27, 2025 at the Sterling Community Building in Sterling, Nebraska.
