Roger William Weakland was born to James “Leonard” and Deanna M. (Farrar) Weakland on July 15, 1956 in Pawnee City, Nebraska. He grew up near Tecumseh and attended Tecumseh Public Schools, graduating with the Class of 1974. After high school, Roger continued his education at Milford Trade School in Auto Body.
Roger was the owner/operator of Roger’s Body Shop in Tecumseh for many years doing auto body repair. He was a member of the Tecumseh Country Club and the Tecumseh Volunteer Fire Department. Roger enjoyed playing golf and bowling and was an avid Husker fan. He enjoyed watching all sports.
He passed away after a gallant fight with cancer on October 5, 2020 at the age of 64 years.
Roger is survived by his mother, Deanna Weakland Weilage and step father Gene of Summerfield, KS, sisters, Leann Pohlman and husband Dean of Eagle, Jackie Hippen and husband John of Lewiston and Jean Pohlman and husband Larry of Syracuse, brother, Michael Weakland of Tecumseh, eleven nieces and nephews and nineteen great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Leonard and infant sister Jan Louise Weakland.
A private family graveside service will be held at the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ (Maple Grove) Cemetery, rural Tecumseh, Nebraska. A public celebration of life will be held at later date.
Register book signing will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at the Wherry Mortuary, Tecumseh, Nebraska.
Memorials may go to the family’s choice.
Inurnment will be in the St. Paul’s U.C.C. (Maple Grove) Cemetery, rural Tecumseh, Nebraska.
