Robert "Bob" William Keith Curfman

Robert “Bob” William Keith Curfman, 79, formerly of Humboldt, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025, in Kearney, Nebraska.  He was born on October 22, 1945, in Hastings, Nebraska to Robert Keith and Mildred Marie (Bean) Curfman.  Bob was raised in Harvard, Nebraska and attended Superior High School in Superior, Nebraska. 

On March 9, 1964, Bob entered into active duty in the U.S. Army.  He served his country during the Vietnam War until being honorably discharged on May 24, 1967.  Bob was united in marriage to Kathy Jones in Kearney, Nebraska on May 12, 1986.  The couple raised their family and made their home in Humboldt, Nebraska for many years.  Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing pool.  He loved tinkering around in the garage and was known to help butcher animals for family and friends.

Bob is survived by his children: Scott Coe and wife Angie of Smyrna, TN; Dustin Curfman of Falls City, Michael Corliss and wife Jennifer of Kearney, NE; Susan Bohling and husband Mike of Humboldt, NE; Loni Shewey of Sabetha, KS; 18 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; his brother Jim Curfman and wife Joy of Kearney, NE; sisters: Nancy Gray of Aurora, NE; Kathy Wiseman and husband Don of Kearney, NE; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Cassandra Kuker, son George Shewey, granddaughter Electra Kuker, and brother-in-law Bob Gray.

A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the Wherry Mortuary, 207 N. Nemaha Street in Humboldt, Nebraska with Pastor Eric Spruth-Janssen officiating.  Full military honors conducted by the Nebraska Army Honor Guard.

Family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2025, at the Wherry Mortuary, 207 N. Nemaha Street in Humboldt, Nebraska.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family’s choice with a later designation.
