Dean became the manager of the Knott’s Berry Farm Ghost Town exhibits. Later, Dean became the wardrobe manager for the 1500 costumes that the employees of Knott’s Berry Farm wore every day.
When Dean retired kept his theatrical dreams alive by becoming a member of the Huntington Beach Playhouse where he acted in and directed a number of productions.
He then moved to Palm Springs, California where he met another Nebraskan who became his life partner.
Dean is survived by a niece Shanon Day of Chino, California
