Patsy Lou (Lang) Stoops

Patsy Lou (Lang) Stoops, 90, formerly of DuBois, Nebraska was born on March 2, 1934, in DuBois, Nebraska to Edward and Anita Nadine (Britt) Lang.  She attended grade school in DuBois and graduated from DuBois High School with the class of 1952.  Patsy was united in marriage to Halden Brown and to this union four children, Barb, Debbie, Terri, and Jon were born.  The couple would later divorce.  Patsy later married Donald Stoops in Lincoln, Nebraska.  To this union a daughter, Theresa, was born.  Patsy was a loving mother and homemaker to her children while working for the phone company in Du Bois.  After moving to Lincoln, she worked at Hill Hatchery, Harmony Bar, and in quality control at the Coca Cola Company.  Patsy later moved back to Du Bois and worked for many years as a waitress at the Saddle Rock Tavern in Table Rock, Nebraska. 

Patsy passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the Pawnee County Memorial Hospital in Pawnee City, Nebraska having reached the earthly age of ninety years, seven months, and twenty-four days.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Don Stoops, brother Warren (Ella) Lang, niece Lisa Lambert, great-nephew Dylan Lang, son-in-law Dennis Hilt, and sister-in-law Doris.

Patsy is survived by her children: Barb Gerdes of DuBois, NE; Debbie Starnes of Shallotte, NC; Terri Hilt of Lincoln, NE; Jon Brown and wife Penny of DuBois, NE; Theresa Paschke of Lincoln, NE; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, brothers: Ben Lang and wife Jan of DuBois, NE; John Lang and special friend Anna Mae Lambert of Pawnee City, NE; and many other relatives and friends.

Graveside Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the DuBois Cemetery in DuBois, Nebraska with Pastor Howard Blecha officiating. 

A Celebration of Patsy's Life will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family’s choice with a later designation.
