Patrick James Donohue, Sr. of Gretna, NE, passed away Monday, June 1, 2026, at the Legato Living in Omaha, NE.
Patrick was born August 8, 1942, Omaha, NE to Leo and Ann (Marchinski) Donohue. He went to St. Bridget’s elementary and graduated from Omaha South High in Omaha. Patrick married his high school sweetheart Gerri Erb on November 12, 1960, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. He was general manager at Sapp Bros Ford and Heavy Trucks until 1997. National Director of Maintenance at Crete Carrier from 1998 until he retired in 2012. He is a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Gretna.
Patrick loved his family, his wife of 65 years, 5 children, 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and drag racing.
Patrick is survived by: son, Patrick J. Donohue Jr. of Omaha, NE; daughter, Karen L. Albino (Sam) of Ralston, NE; daughter, Kellie A. Urban (Brent) of Gretna, NE; son, Troy C. Donohue (Jennifer) of Omaha, NE; daughter, Kaleen M. Anson (Donnie) of Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Mathew Peterson (Brandi), Christopher Donohue (Jen), Kyle Peterson (Wendi), Corey Donohue, Brandon Urban (Amanda), Gage Anson (Kendall), Colin Donohue, Andrew Urban (Taylor), Hailey Draper (Ricky), Christian Donohue (Chloe), Madison Donohue, Ian Urban (Macy), Hannah Evans (Michael), Conner Donohue; 15 great-grandchildren; sister; Kathy Pecha all of Omaha, NE; sisters in law; Connie Donohue of Omaha, NE, Barb Olson of Omaha, NE and Shirley Shiery of Papillion, NE; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gerri (March 1, 2026); brother, Michael Donohue, Sr.; sister, Mary Donohue; brother-in-law, John Pecha.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, June 5, 2026, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Gretna, NE with Father Gregory Baxter officiating with visitation one-hour preceding services. Luncheon will immediately follow services. Private family burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Omaha.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2026 at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Gretna, Nebraska. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.
