It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia A. “Pat” Peters, who passed away on January 24, 2026, at the age of 84. She was born on February 17, 1941, in Humboldt, Nebraska, to Roy and Norma Dodds. Pat grew up in Omaha and spent most of her adult life in Davenport, Iowa.
Above all, Pat loved her family. A strong and independent woman, she raised two children while facing her own health challenges with determination, resilience, and grace. She was the glue that held her family together, always making time for her children, grandchildren, and extended family.
Pat began her career as a medical technologist, later spending 37 years at Palmer Chiropractic College in the campus library. She cherished her daily interactions with students and the camaraderie of her coworkers. Retiring at 84 was a testament to how deeply she enjoyed being part of the Palmer community.
Outside of work, Pat found joy in shopping, attending dinner theater with friends, and especially playing Bingo. She knew all the best Bingo spots around the Quad Cities and cherished the friendships she made along the way.
Pat is survived by her daughter: Kimberly (Tom) Coleman, her son, Christopher (Jennifer) Peters, her brother, Stephen (Linda) Dodds of Bellevue, Nebraska; and her grandchildren Gretchen (Chase), Charles, Samuel, Grace, and Ember. She was preceded in death by her parents. Pat is buried in her beloved Humboldt Cemetery with her mother, father, and many Hoagland family members that grew up with or came before her. It was her happy place to visit over Memorial Day when the cemetery was at its most beautiful.
Pat will be remembered for her big smile, positive optimistic nature, unwavering strength, independence, devotion to family, and the quiet determination that defined her life. Her legacy lives on in the family she raised, the students she supported, and the many lives she touched simply by being herself.
A Celebration of Pat’s Life will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family with a later designation.
