Michael "Mike" Moser Obituary

Michael Lee Moser, 62, of Pawnee City, Nebraska passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 with his family by his side, at Bryan East Memorial Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was born on February 19, 1962, to Robert “Bob” and Nadine (Scheidegger) Moser in Pawnee City, Nebraska.

He attended school in Pawnee City and graduated with the class of 1980. After graduation, he entered the workforce. He worked for his father at Moser Construction where he learned to run a dozer and motor grader. He then joined the Pawnee County Bridge Crew where he was known for his excavator skills. Working for Ferebee Construction and Midstate Erectors, Mike traveled the country installing generator engines for Power Plants.  He was a great welder, he could build anything out of steel. In 2002, Mike decided to stop traveling and started Moser Tree Service.  The business started with a stump grinder and evolved into a full-service tree company and nursery. Mike took a lot of pride in his work.

He married Mary Blecha on November 2, 1991, in Steinauer, Nebraska at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. To this union three children were born; Blake, Collin, and Lauren. The family resided in Pawnee City until 2016 when they moved to his parent’s acreage. Mike loved having a fish fry at the pond and just sitting under the shelter admiring his garden or catching fish.

He was a member of St.  Anthony’s Church in Steinauer, Nebraska. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He looked forward to his “Kentucky friends” coming to visit. He loved watching his hunting dogs work. The only pictures on his phone were of his dogs in the field. Mike also enjoyed coaching the Pawnee City trap shooting team. He was fortunate to coach all of his children in bb gun, air rifle, and trap shooting.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents Robert “Bob” Moser and Nadine Moser, sisters Sharon Snook and Karen Moser, father in-law Morris Blecha, brothers-in-law Tim Snook and Steve Deneke, and niece Megan Deneke.

He survived by his wife Mary, children Blake (Macie Coffey), Dubois, Nebraska, Collin, Omaha, Nebraska, Lauren, Pawnee City, Nebraska, sister Roberta “Sput” (Michael) Turnbull, Pawnee City, Nebraska, mother in-law Frances Blecha, Pawnee City, Nebraska, sister in-laws Marcia Deneke, Wessington Spring, South Dakota, Machelle (Ryan) Wendel, Lincoln, Nebraska, Melisa (Shawn) Friedly, Pawnee City, Nebraska, brother-in-law Mark Blecha, Pawnee City, Nebraska, many nieces and nephews, and friends.
