Michael "Mike" Cullivan

Michael (Mike) Cullivan, 78, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on Monday evening, December 2, 2024. Michael was born in Quincy, IL on November 8, 1946 to Eugene and Mary (Elbus) Cullivan.  He grew up in southern Illinois where he loved baseball, Boy Scouts, camping, and working on both his grandfather’s farm and his paper route.  He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Illinois University and his Master of Social Work from New Mexico Highlands University.  He worked many years as a psychiatric social worker.  Michael married Linda Riensche in San Antonio, TX on March 16, 2000.  

Mike was interested in everything and could do or fix almost anything.  He loved to travel and was especially interested in electronics, cooking, politics, Christian writings and studies, health and nutrition, and collecting.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Mary Cullivan and sister Carol Ann Cullivan Martin.

He is survived by his wife Linda Cullivan, son, Richard Cullivan, brothers Jim (Jeanie) Cullivan; Danny (Kathy) Cullivan and Terry (Celeste) Cullivan; and grandsons Christopher Getz, Richard Cullivan, Jr.; and Christopher Jones, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bruce and Dianne Riensche of Sterling, Lynette and Rick Hartman of Holmesville and Debbie and Keith Zuhlke of Creighton as well as numerous nieces and nephews.   

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Wherry Mortuary, Tecumseh, Nebraska. 
Private family services will be held.  

Pallbearers will be Bradley Riensche, Jeffrey Riensche, Kevin Zuhlke, Lora Zuhlke, Craig Zuhlke, and Nate Hartman.
