Mary "Margaret" (Henske) Ziettlow

Mary “Margaret” (Henske) Ziettlow was born May 19, 1924 at Clatonia, Nebraska to Della (Runty) and Fred Henske. She was baptized at the rural EUB church west of DeWitt and attended there until moving to Clatonia as an adult, joining the Methodist church.  Margaret attended Plummer Branch country school and DeWitt High School graduating in 1942. 

On June 1, 1942, Margaret was united in marriage to Wayne Ziettlow, also of Dewitt, NE, before he left for the service and WWII. She either stayed with family or joined Wayne at Fort Carson. Sheryl was born in Aug. 1943.  After being discharged from the service in Dec. of 1945, Wayne and Margaret farmed west of DeWitt till the farm was sold and they moved to a farm a mile east of Clatonia. Gaylord was born in Dec. 1946 and Marcia in Aug. 1951. 

After Wayne quit farming, Margaret and Wayne moved into Clatonia for several years and Wayne worked in Beatrice.  Margaret went to Cosmetology school in 1958, borrowing $50 from her father-in-law to pay for it. After she graduated, the family moved to Beatrice in 1959 and Margaret worked at the Beatrice Beauty Academy, Evelyn’s Beauty Salon and a shop in the Indian Creek Mall.  After some time Margaret gave that up to work in retail, mostly women’s clothing. Margaret really enjoyed those years and knew many people. 

Margaret passed away July 15, 2021 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 97 years.    

She was preceded in death by her parents, her mother when she was 13 and her father in 1947, by husband, Wayne in 1995, son, Gaylord in 2018; daughter, Marcia unexpectedly in May 2020, sisters, Lucille Schmidt and Geraldine LeMay; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. 

Margaret is survived by daughter, Sheryl Schultz; grandson, Bill Schultz of Lincoln; grandson, DJ (Heather) Kirk; great-grandsons, Drew and Ben, 2 step-great grandsons all of Tomball, TX; sister, Dorothy Schuerman of Lincoln; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and special friends, Vaughn & Tina Wright & family. 

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Centenary United Methodist Church in Beatrice with Pastor Paixao Baptista officiating.

Visitation will be at the church Tuesday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.

Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, DeWitt, Nebraska.
