Lori Jolene (Hoffman) Van Winkle

Lori Jolene (Hoffman) Van Winkle, 65, of Steinauer, Nebraska passed away at home on Monday, November 13, 2023.  She was born on January 6, 1958 in Lincoln, Nebraska to John “Jack” and Donna (Campbell) Hoffman.

Lori attended Lewiston Consolidated Schools where she graduated and then attended Lincoln School of Commerce and received her Business Degree.

She worked at Collection Associates as Director of Legal Support Services for many years. Lori loved her job and worked there until ten days before she passed away.

On April 3,1983, Lori married Mark Van Winkle at Salem United Church of Christ, Steinauer, Nebraska.  To this union three children were born, Lindsay, Kylie and Tyler (who passed April of 2018).

Lori was a member of the Salem United Church of Christ, Steinauer, Nebraska.  She loved cooking, sewing, gardening, Husker football, crossword puzzles, reading, playing the piano, World War II history and her family.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Donna Hoffman, son Tyler Van Winkle, brother-in-law, Neal Roelfs and niece, Emily Roelfs.

Lori is survived by her husband, Mark Van Winkle, daughters, Lindsay (Brad) Bernadt, Kylie (Matt) Rosenbohm, grandsons, Deacon and Owen Bernadt, granddaughters, Gwendolyn Bernadt and Lila and Ellie Rosenbohm, father, Jack Hoffman and wife Marilyn, sisters, Jody Roelfs, Shelley (Brad) Armstrong and Sandy (Len) Medley, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorial services: 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 17, 2023 at Salem United Church of Christ, Steinauer, Nebraska with Rev. Ken Tubbesing and Pastor John Snyder officiating.  Refreshments will follow the service.   A register book will be available for signing on Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Wherry Mortuary, 919 G Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska. A private inurnment will be at a later date. Memorials to family choice.
