Linda Sue Hunzeker

Linda Sue (Iliff) Hunzeker, 75, of rural Table Rock, NE was born on April 16, 1947, in Humboldt, NE to Donald and Helen (Rexroth) Iliff.  She was raised with her family in Dawson, NE where she attended Grand Avenue country school.  Linda graduated from Dawson-Verdon High School with the class of 1965. On March 25, 1966, Linda was united in marriage to Ronald Hunzeker at Dr. Heim's house in Humboldt, NE.  To this union four children, Rick, Vicky, Angie and Mike were born. The couple raised their family on a farm near Steinauer, NE and then rural Table Rock, NE.  Linda worked for the Table Rock Public Schools as a custodian and eventually became the head cook at HTRS Public Schools until she retired in May 2012. She loved to cook and bake for her family and was known for her fried chicken, pie, and kolaches. Linda was quite artistic and decorated cakes for her kids and more recently loved to take painting classes.Linda passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at the Bryan LGH Medical Center West in Lincoln, NE having reached the earthly age of seventy-five years, one month, and five days.  She was preceded in death by her parents and parents-in-law Jake and Maxine Hunzeker.Linda is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Ron Hunzeker of Table Rock, NE; children: Rick Hunzeker and wife LuAnn of Table Rock, NE; Vicky McNealy and husband Dave of Humboldt, NE; Angie Shupp and husband Ben of Humboldt, NE; Mike Hunzeker and wife Amy of Table Rock, NE; grandchildren: Craig Schmit and wife Ali of Humboldt, NE; Jake McNealy of Lincoln, NE; Casey McNealy of Lincoln, NE; Dylan Hunzeker of rural Humboldt, NE; Jack Hunzeker of Table Rock, NE; Reed and Chloe Shupp of Humboldt, NE; Cole and Cooper Hunzeker of Table Rock, NE; great-grandchildren: Haley and Taya Schmit of Humboldt, NE; a brother Bill Iliff and wife Linda of Monticello, IL; sisters-in-law: Joyce Farrington and husband Terry of Akeley, MN; Carol Rexroth and husband Larry of Humboldt, NE; Shirley Dolsky and husband John of rural Humboldt, NE ; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at the United Methodist Church in Humboldt, Nebraska with Pastor Dorothy Smith officiating. The link to the live stream of the service is now available on Linda's tribute wall. Interment will immediately follow services at the Table Rock Cemetery. A luncheon will be served at the United Methodist Church in Table Rock. Visitation will be from 9 a.m.- 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at the Wherry Mortuary, 207 N. Nemaha Street in Humboldt, Nebraska.
