Linda Marie (Wenzl) Kalin

Linda Marie (Wenzl) Kalin, 59, of Burchard, Nebraska passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021 in Lincoln, Nebraska.  She was born on June 23, 1961 to David and Jean Marie (Bruun) Wenzl in Lincoln, Nebraska.  She attended Saratoga Elementary kindergarten to 4th grade, then transferred to Adams Public School and graduated in 1979.  She started on the 1979 girls' basketball championship team for Adams High School.  After graduation, Linda attended Doane College  in Crete, Nebraska.

She married Patrick Kalin on April 5, 2013 at St. Anthony’s Convent House Chapel.  Linda was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Steinauer, Nebraska.

Linda worked several different jobs throughout her life, all over the United States.  Linda’s last job which she loved was being a farmer's wife and being with her dad.  She loved collecting cookbooks, shoes and purses.  Linda loved shopping and spoiling her grandkids and nieces.  She also loved gardening and riding around on her gator with a glass of wine in her hand.  

She was preceded in death by her mother Jean (Bruun) Wenzl.

Linda is survived by her loving husband Patrick Kalin of Burchard, NE, father David Wenzl of Steinauer, NE, step-children, Michelle Gray of Shelby, NE, Matthew (Alyssa) Kalin of Lincoln, NE, grandchildren, Jaxson Gray of Shelby, NE and Chase & Alexis Kalin of Lincoln, NE, sisters, Kristi Rears of Tecumseh, NE and Jane (John) Kress of Steinauer, NE, parents-in-law, Omer and Oliva Kalin of Lincoln, NE,  brother-in-law, John (Lori) Kalin of Steinauer, NE, sisters-in-law, Jean (Mike) Vanlaningham of Beatrice, NE, Nancy (Rod) Gibson of Lincoln, NE, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. 

Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Steinauer, Nebraska.  Officiating Father Michael Christensen.  Visitation on Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Wherry Mortuary, 919 G Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska. Rosary on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 7:00 p.m., at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Interment at St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery, Steinauer, Nebraska. Memorials to family choice.
