Linda Kunzman (Tillman) Baum

Linda Baum Obituary

 Linda J. Baum, 60, of rural Tecumseh, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Bryan West Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was born to Lewis and Betty (Roberts) Tillman on September 5, 1958 in Falls City, Nebraska.  Linda was the youngest of four children born to this union. In her early days Linda enjoyed riding her horse Buster and participating in horse shows in Salem.  Linda attended Dawson-Verdon Public Schools graduating with the Class of 1976.

 She was united in marriage on September 23, 1978 to Michael "Mick" Kunzman at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Tecumseh, Nebraska. To this union three sons were born, Shawn, Joseph and Jeremy.  Mick and Linda lived in Tecumseh where they raised their family and Linda started working in retail for Wheelers and later worked for Orschelins. Mick passed away October 13, 2003.  Linda later married Bill Baum at the Maple Grove Church, rural Tecumseh on August 19, 2006.  Bill and Linda made their home southwest of Tecumseh and Linda loved being out on farm.  She was the bookkeeper for Maple Grove Hay and really took pride in being part of the hay business with her husband Bill.

In her spare time, Linda enjoyed puzzles, crafts, reading Janet Evanovich books, embroidery projects, and also participated in helping the Tecumseh Fire Department with meals and water fights.  Linda loved having her grandchildren around and teaching them how to play spoons and showing them how to look at the clouds and describe what they saw.  She was an assistant coach for two years with T-Ball and one year with coach pitch and loved watching Husker football and having her friends and family around. Linda will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Baum of rural Tecumseh, sons, Shawn Kunzman and significant other Tosha Cook of Humboldt, Joe Kunzman and wife Jennifer of Elk Creek and Jeremy Kunzman and wife Desiree of Greenleaf, KS, grandchildren, Devin Cook, Sadie Kunzman, Kolby Kunzman, Kasha Marroquin, Sean Britt and Ayden Cannon, sisters, Shirley Schuetz and significant other Paul Kaiser of Falls City and Georgia Beethe and husband Gary of Steinauer, step-children, Todd Baum and wife Ashley of Seward and children Phaelin, Gavin and Brezlyn, Tamra and Bobby Tran and children Karsten and Tiegan, Garret Baum and significant other Ann Rene and children Ellyana, Joshton and Neela and Eric Baum and significant other JaeLynn Edwards and daughter Isabella, mother-in-law, Mary Lou Baum of Tecumseh, brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom Baum and wife Teresa and John Baum and wife Sue of Tecumseh, Sharon Kuska and husband Galen of Exeter, Sheila Kelly and husband Greg of Papillion and Teri Pendell of Beatrice, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends as well as her dogs, Chase and Buster.    

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Michael "Mick" Kunzman, brother, Arthur Tillman, brothers-in-law, Dan "Festus" and Tony Kunzman, father-in-law, Glen Baum, nephew, Tim Baum and niece Shari Jorn.                                

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ (Maple Grove) Church, southwest of Tecumseh, Nebraska with Rev. Eric Biehl officiating.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, August 19, 2019 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska.

Memorials may go to the family’s choice.
