Lillian Rohlmeier Obituary

Lillian Lucille (Bstandig) Rohlmeier was born on February 16, 1932, at the Pawnee County Memorial Hospital, Pawnee City, NE, to Clara (Waniska) and Raymond Bstandig.  She was raised on a farm near Burchard, NE.  Lillian attended the rural Cracker Box School and graduated from Burchard High School in 1949.  She worked in Beatrice at Swifts Poultry Plant and in Lincoln as a telephone operator.  Lillian was united in marriage to Ray Richardson in Burchard in June of 1949.  To this union, their daughter, Rita, was born.  They later divorced.

On December 26, 1954, Lillian was united in marriage to Kenneth Rohlmeier at Frieden's United Chruch of Christ, Bern, KS.  They made their home on the Rohlmeier family farm two miles east and a mile north of DuBois, NE.  Kenneth adopted Rita, and two more children were born, Faye and Vann.

Lillian worked with Kenneth on the farm raising livestock and chickens, growing crops and a large garden.  She did a lot of cooking, baking, canning and cleaning.  The family favorites were her pies, cakes, cookies, and dill pickles.  She was a member of the Frieden's United Church of Christ where she served in Women's Guild.  Lillian enjoyed selling AVON for over 40 years.  In 1998, she and Kenneth moved from the farm to their new home in DuBois.  Lillian began working part time at the State Bank of DuBois.

In 2008, Lillian had surgery on her right ankle.  She contracted the staph infection, MRSA, and several months later she had a below-the-knee amputation of her right leg.  Lillian was fit with a prosthesis and continued to do as much as her health would allow.  After Kenneth passed away in February 2015, she moved to Haven Manor Assisted Living in Hickman, NE, in June of the same year.  In January 2018, she was admitted to Gold Crest Nursing Home in Adams, NE, where she lived until her passing on April 1, 2023.

Lillian was proceeded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth; sister, Dorothy Bstandig; uncle, Albert Waniska; son-in-law, David Weyer; sister-in-law, Charlene Kaster; brother-in-law, Charles Kaster; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Yoble.

Lillian is survived by her daughters, Rita Weyer and Faye (Orville) Brown, Lincoln, NE; son, Vann Rohlmeier, DuBois, NE, and brother-in-law, Dean Yoble of DuBois.  Other surviving family include grandchildren, Lanette Luedeke (Jeff) Colson, Roca, NE; Justin (Becky) Weyer, Beatrice, NE; Devin (Michelle) Weyer, Liberty, NE; Hillary (Greg) Veerhusen, Adams, NE; Ian Brown (Ellie Juarez Oware), Alhambra, CA; Kaylee (Adam) Gibson, Neosho, MO; and Cheyney Rohlmeier, Omaha, NE.  Great grandchildren:  Vince and Levi Colson, Gracelyn and Mosely Weyer, Revel and Archer Weyer, Brooklynn, Kraten and Clifton Veerhusen, and Alexis Oware.
