Kathleen Jean Barone

God called his faithful servant, Kathleen Jean Barone, to her heavenly home in the early morning hours on Sunday, January 9, 2022.
Kathleen Jean (Kling) Barone was born to Richard and Lucille Kling on April 25, 1971 in Melrose Park, Illinois. The family moved to Mitchell, Nebraska in 1976 where she grew up. Kathleen graduated from Mitchell High School in 1989 and earned a BS in Elementary Education with a Lutheran Teacher’s Diploma from Concordia College in Seward, Nebraska in 1996. 
Kathleen married Michael Barone on December 30, 1998 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. They made their home in various cities in California until 2011 when they moved to Tecumseh, Nebraska where Kathleen found a love for teaching preschool at St. John’s Lutheran Church. In 2015, they were blessed with the guardianship of their sweet Lily girl, whom they loved dearly for 18 months. 
Kathleen was a remarkable, dedicated Lutheran school teacher for over 20 years who loved her students dearly. She touched so many lives and was blessed to have served in Lutheran Schools in California, Nebraska, Iowa, and Wyoming. She often ended her day by telling her students, Jesus loves you and so do I. 
Kathleen is survived by her brother, Rick Kling of Scottsbluff; Michael’s mother, Sandra Barone-Jacobson of Montana; her Aunt Bernie of Illinois; several cousins; and her faithful service dog, Darbee, who will miss her greatly. 
She was preceded in death by her husband Michael Barone and her parents Richard and Lucille Kling. 

 Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 21, 2022 at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Tecumseh, Nebraska with Rev. Marcel Kohlmeyer officiating. The service was live streamed on the Wherry Mortuary/Wherry Monument Facebook page and a link to the livestream is also available on the bottom of Kathleen's webpage.

Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. in the Wyuka Cemetery, Lincoln, Nebraska.
