Joshua J. Parrish

Joshua James Parrish was born February 10, 1990 at the Johnson County Hospital to Todd Parrish and Angela (Bartels) Haussler.  As a child, Josh loved baseball, bowling, fishing and building anything with tools.  At the age of 8 he built his sister Cassie a bike out of scraps.  He learned to play guitar and was currently writing his own songs.  Josh had a love for BMX biking, 4-wheelers and motorcycles.  He especially loved working on restoring old cars. 

After graduating from Johnson County Central High School with the class of 2008, Josh attended Southeast Community College in Lincoln and received his Associates Degree in ATV, Watercraft and Small Engine Repair. His current job was a mechanic at Ryker Power Sports in Omaha and Josh had recently been promoted to shop manager and was very proud of himself.

Josh was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Tecumseh and also attended AWANAS at the First Baptist Church for several years while growing up.

He passed away March 15, 2021 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 31 years.

Josh is survived by his father Todd and wife Heidi Parrish, mother Angela and husband Brian Haussler, sisters Cassie Parrish and Zoe Haussler, grandparents, LaVay Parrish and Lavern and Eloise Bartels, longtime girlfriend Megan Johnson, niece Hallie Frerichs and nephew Christian Frerichs.  Other family members include step-grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins and many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Don Parrish and special friends Garrett Rap and Matt Kenyon.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in Tecumseh, Nebraska with Pastor Hugh Giesbrecht officiating.  The service will also be livestreamed on the Wherry Mortuary/Wherry Monument Facebook page.

Register book signing will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2021 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska.

Memorials may go to the family's choice.

Inurnment will be in the Tecumseh Cemetery, Tecumseh, Nebraska.
