John Paul Albino, 76, died on January 9, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. John was born on December 11, 1946, to John and Nellie (Greco) Albino. He was the youngest of 3 and brother Samuel (deceased) and his sister Annie Falco-Marr. He attended elementary school at St. Adalbert’s Catholic School, Omaha, Nebraska and graduated from Omaha South High School. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War from March 21, 1966 to his honorary discharge on March 3, 1968. After the Army, John spent years working in the automotive field and later in life connected to his true talents of sales. He sold tire services for Goodyear, and later opened his own construction company. John was a 3rd Degree knight with the Knights of Columbus in Omaha, Nebraska.
John’s greatest love was his family. His grandchildren filled his heart and each of them had a special bond. He loved pasta on Sundays, shopping with his children on Christmas Eve, buying new cars and listening to music of all sorts. John loved the Top Gun movie, all the Godfather movies, and in July would start watching the Hallmark Christmas station. He was an avid lover of sports, his teams included the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Creighton basketball, LA Lakers, San Francisco 49’ers, Cleveland Indians (the Guardians) and he had a passion for playing and watching golf.
John was preceded in death by his mother Nellie Frances Greco-Albino-Jones, his father John Albino, his step-father Herb Jones, his brother Samuel Albino, his nephew Michael Falco, and his daughter Dixie Cruz and various aunts, uncles and cousins.
John is survived by his daughters, Dawn (Tim) Hawkins, Knoxville TN, DeAnna (Travis) Busby-Rast, Omaha NE, Dana (Bill) Muntz, Louisville, NE and his son Michael Albino, Omaha NE, grandchildren, Klarissa Hawkins, Trent Hawkins, Austin Cruz, MarLee and DeLand Busby, Clara and Wil Muntz and Jordan and Haley Rast, and great-grandchildren Antonio, Hayden and Lylah, sister Ann (Riley) Falco-Marr, sister-in-law Janus Albino and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL SERVICES will be held 10:30 A.M., Thursday, January 12, 2023 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 20500 West Maple Road, Elkhorn Nebraska 68022. The service was also livestreamed on the Wherry Mortuary Facebook page and a link to the livestream is now available at the bottom of John's webpage.

VISITATION: St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Elkhorn, NE, Wednesday 5-7 PM with Vigil/Scripture Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Memorials to the family.
