Jesse Anderson Obituary

Jesse James Anderson, 66, of rural Humboldt, Nebraska was born on August 17, 1954 in Auburn, Nebraska to Dean and Daisy (Dunlap) Darling.  He was later adopted by his father George Anderson.  Jesse was raised with his family near Humboldt and attended Southeast Consolidated schools.  He was a standout running back for the Mustang football team and graduated from Southeast Consolidated High School with the class of 1973.  After high school, Jesse joined the Army National Guard for a few years before enlisting in the U.S. Navy.  On October 25, 1976, he entered into active duty with the Navy and served his country for 11 years until being honorably discharged on February 22, 1983.  On January 23, 1983, Jesse was united in marriage to Michelle Foster in San Diego, California.  To this union two children, Adrianne and David, were born.  While serving in the U.S. Navy, Jesse was a top tier maintenance man working on nuclear reactors on the ship.  He visited 27 countries while serving in the navy, but eventually retired back to Nebraska where his heart always was.

Jesse passed away suddenly on Monday, July 12, 2021, while fishing on the river with his son David.  He is preceded in death by wife Michelle Anderson, his father George Anderson, brother Randy Anderson, sister Patricia Stutheit and sister-in-law Laurie Anderson.  

Jesse is survived by his daughters; Adrianne Dalby and husband Tim of Humboldt, NE; Angela DuQuesnay of Los Angeles, CA; son David Anderson of rural Humboldt, NE; 8 grandchildren; mother Daisy Anderson of rural Humboldt, NE; a sister Shirley Anderson of Beatrice, NE; brothers: Lee Anderson of rural Humboldt, NE; George Anderson, and Charles Anderson of Dawson, NE; and many other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Jesse’s Life will be held privately at the family farm near Humboldt, Nebraska.

Inurnment of his cremains will be held privately by his family in the Missouri River at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family with a later designation.
