Jerry Lynn Strodtman, 79, of rural Douglas, passed away Friday, June 10, 2022 at his home. He was born to Ben Henry and Della Mae (Poffenbarger) Strodtman on October 22, 1942 in Kingsville, Texas. Jerry grew up in Palmyra Nebraska where he met his future wife, Luella Strayer. They were united in marriage at the Baptist Church in Palmyra Nebraska. To this union two children were born Stephanie and Jerry, Jr. Jerry was a self-employed mechanic. He also served for a brief time in the Army National Guard. Jerry loved fixing things and tinkering in his shop.
He is survived by his wife Luella, daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie Porter and husband Clarence, son and daughter-in-law, Jerry Strodtman Jr. and wife Jody, granddaughters, Ashley Gallagher, Allison Porter, Sydney Porter, Morgan Strodtman, grandson Erik Strodtman, great-granddaughters Cassandra Gallagher and Marianna Strodtman, nieces, nephews, brother-in-law and sister-in-law LaRue and Jackie Strayer of Auburn, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Arlene and Norman Bohling of Elk Creek and sister-in-law Pauline Fivecoats of Minnesota, other relatives and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father Ben Strodtman, mother and step-father Della and Jesse Brant, brothers James Strodtman and Richard Brant and sister Marlene Domgard.
Jerry's wishes were for cremation to take place and no services to be held.
