Jeffrey "Jeff" Stinson

Jeffrey Raymond Stinson, 41, of Lincoln, NE, passed away on September 30, 2024, in Omaha, NE surrounded by his family and friends.  Jeff was born prematurely on July 22, 1983, in Lincoln, NE, to Randy & Christianne Stinson. Due to his early birth, he remained at St Elizabeth Hospital in the NICU until he was 7 months old.

Jeff had an uphill battle from the very start, but once out of the hospital he was raised by Norma & Ken Stinson, his loving grandparents also known to him as “Mom & Dad”. Because of their love & care, Jeff thrived and began learning new skills as well as “how to get his big brother in trouble”.  Jeff attended school in Tecumseh, NE before moving to Lincoln, NE and graduating from Lincoln High in 2003.

Jeff received residential and community support in Lincoln. He and his roommate, Ryan, lived together for almost 20 years. Jeff met some of his lifelong friends during this time. Jeff was a thrill seeker, music lover and 4th of July enthusiast! He enjoyed skateboarding & riding bikes. He attended many, many concerts, both at big venues as well as live performances in his living room, with his friends. He enjoyed wrestling and riding all the rides at Worlds of Fun. Jeff loved the outdoors, walking the trails and enjoying Lincoln’s many parks. Friends never missed spending the 4th of July with him as he enjoyed the loudest of BOOMS and they loved seeing those big shitty grins that came after. Jeff volunteered for Lincoln Parks & Rec, Meals on Wheels and at the Lincoln Children’s Zoo.

Those who knew Jeff valued him and his differences. It’s his uniqueness that made him loved by so many. Jeff didn’t know that he had difficulties or that his life was harder than most.  He was fearless, tough and smiled through it all, while touching so many lives.

Jeff faced many struggles and hospitalizations over the years but did so courageously. His family and friends would like to send the biggest “Thank You” to those of you who cared for him at St Elizabeth, Bryan East, Select Specialty Hospital & Bergan Mercy. Your kindness and compassion towards Jeff made a difference!

Remaining to cherish Jeff’s memory, Grandma/Mom: Norma Stinson (Tecumseh, NE), Brother: Zach Stinson (Hutchinson, KS), Aunt: Barb (John) Wenzl (Spokane, WA), Uncle: Floyd (Linda) Stinson (Tecumseh, NE), Stepmom: Karen Carnoali (Pawnee City, NE), other relatives and Special Friends: Samie, Joel, Amy, Steph, Aaron, & Leslie.

Preceding Jeff in death, Twin Brother: Joseph Stinson, Grandpa/Dad: Ken Stinson, Birth Parents: Randy Stinson & Christianne Robbins.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursday, Oct 10, 2024 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska. 

Graveside services and burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Oct 11, 2024 at the Tecumseh Cemetery, Tecumseh, Nebraska with Father Christopher Kubat officiating.

Memorials may be made to the family to have a memorial bench placed in Jeff’s memory at a later date.
