Jeanne Standerford Obituary

Jeanne Marie (Powell) Standerford was born to Harlan and Libby (Ninger) Powell on November 3, 1929 at Humboldt, Nebraska.  She attended Hazel Dell School District #13, graduated from Humboldt High School in 1947 and from Peru Normal Training in 1949. Jeanne attended the school of life until her passing on January 20, 2020.

Jeanne was united in marriage to James M. Standerford on April 9, 1950 at the First Presbyterian Church in Humboldt, Nebraska.  The couple resided west of Humboldt after their marriage where they established JMS Dairy, until moving into Humboldt in 2006.

Jeanne was the organist for the Presbyterian Church, and accompanist for Dawson-Verdon for 25 years and HTRS for 13 years until her retirement.  After graduating from Peru, she taught elementary classes in Table Rock for 2 years, then later served as a substitute teacher in Dawson-Verdon for a time.  Jeanne played for many weddings and funerals over the years. She was a member of the Sing-A-Fours Quartet, Humboldt Presbyterian Church, Rebekahs and served as a 4-H leader over 55 years.  Jeanne loved singing in the community cantatas.  Jeanne was the State President of the Rebekahs in 1999-2000, and Musician for the National Rebekah Association.

Jeanne loved children, music, and God.  She was a lifelong learner and enjoyed cooking for crowds.  Jeanne would joke that JMS Dairy was home to cows, kids and cats.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
