Jeanette Mary Johnson

Jeanette M. Johnson, 76, of Tecumseh, passed away February 13, 2023 at the Good Samaritan Center in Auburn, Nebraska.  She was born to Lorain "Buck" and Dorothy (Ullman) Johnson on November 15, 1946 in Tecumseh, Nebraska.  Jeanette grew up in Tecumseh where she attended school and graduated from Tecumseh High School with the class of 1964.  After graduation, she worked in the kitchen of the Tecumseh Public Schools and also at Belle Terrace in Tecumseh for a few years.  

She lived with her parents in Tecumseh helping them in their family home until her father passed away in 1983 and her mother in 1991.  After a few years of living alone, Jeanette moved to Kansas to live with her sister Linda and husband Bryce.  The three of them later returned to reside in the Johnson family home in Tecumseh in 2001.  Linda and Bryce took care of Jeanette for many years, and were loving caregivers for all her needs.  When her health failed, Jeanette moved to the Good Samaritan in Auburn.  

Jeanette was a lifelong member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tecumseh and faithfully attended Saturday mass.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially playing dominoes with her cousin Craig as well as Solitaire and other card and board games.  

She is survived by her sister Linda Fetterolf and husband Bryce of Tecumseh, brother Larry Johnson and wife Marlene of Lincoln, nephews, Jeff Rosenburg and wife Barb, Bryan Fetterolf, David Johnson, Russ Johnson and wife Rebecca and Matt Johnson, niece, Jill McKillip and husband Ryan, numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.  

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, Lorain and Dorothy Johnson.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 20, 2023 at the St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tecumseh, Nebraska with Father Christopher Kubat officiating.   The family has asked to set up a fund to assist with her funeral expenses.  You can access the link here: https://www.tmcfunding.com/funds/jeanette-johnson-funeral-services/7572/

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2023 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska.  Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m.

Memorials may go to the family's choice.

Inurnment will be in the St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery, Tecumseh, Nebraska.
