Janet Louise (Fleck) White was born to Herman and Christine (Rohwer) Fleck on December 18, 1943 in Tecumseh, Nebraska. She grew up on the farm and attended Tecumseh Public Schools where she graduated from Tecumseh High School.
She was united in marriage to Roger D. White at a small country church near Johnson on July 14, 1962 and they celebrated 62 years of married life before she became ill and was taken to Bryan West Hospital in Lincoln, where she passed away on July 24, 2024.
Janet was a hard worker and worked side by side Roger on the farm taking care of many animals. She loved all animals and raised many bucket calves and chickens on the farm over the years. Janet and Roger enjoyed going to auctions together and quite often spent Saturdays at the Palmyra Sale Barn to purchase hay. She was a great cook and loved trying out new recipes she found in magazines. Family members enjoyed going to their house to try out a new dessert she had made!
Janet is survived by her husband Roger White of Adams, sister-in-law Charlene Blohm of Council Bluffs, IA and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Annie Schleip, Ruth Neeman, Margaret deKoning, Elsie Anson and Delores Dabb and brother Gilbert “Pete” Fleck.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2024 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska with Pastor Hugh Giesbrecht officiating.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2024 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska.
Memorials may go to the family’s choice.
Interment will be in the Vesta Cemetery, rural Tecumseh, Nebraska.
