Jaliyah D. Compton was born to Johnathan and Joyce (McHenry) Compton on January 24, 2002 in Lexington, Nebraska. She moved quite a bit with her family when she was young. She started school in Lexington, then attended Lewiston, Pawnee City and Sandy Creek, returned to Pawnee City and then was homeschooled her junior and senior years.
As a young girl, she was a social butterfly, until in middle school she became quieter and more to herself. Jaliyah was very personable, loving, and outgoing with those close to her. She loved to crochet and spend time with her friends. Jaliyah was a loving mother to her beautiful son Javion who she adored.
Her life ended tragically on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 in Falls City, Nebraska at the young age of 23 years.
She will be missed forever by her precious son Javion, her loving mother Joyce, her sisters Jennifer Hill and husband Jake, Justice Moore and significant other Demarcus Saulsbury, Jasmine Valenzia and significant other Belo Garcia, Rae’van Compton and Kierra and husband, her grandmother Marie (Oehm) McHenry, grandparents, Harry and Mary Jones, uncles Daryl McHenry and wife Lisa, Kenya Jones and Justin Compton, aunts Amber McElroy and husband Jason, Nikki Flores and husband Anthony, Barbara Compton and Tasha Compton, many nieces, nephews. cousins, other extended family and special friends.
Jaliyah was preceded in death by her father Johnthan Compton, grandfather Owen McHenry and aunt Regina McHenry.
A Celebration of Life Event will be held at a later date and it will be announced on her webpage as soon as the planning is completed.
