Ina L (Clema) Spier

Ina Laura Spier, 106, of Pawnee City, Nebraska passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at the Premier Estates.  She was born on August 31, 1914 to Joseph and Anna (Wenzl) Clema, on the family farm six miles southwest of Pawnee City, Nebraska.  Ina grew up southwest of Pawnee City and attended Chatawa rural school through the eighth grade.  

On September 25, 1935, Ina was married to Albert O. Spier. To this union a son Albert W. was born.

Albert and Ina lived 44 years on the same farm and retired to Pawnee City in 1979. Ina was a big western fan and enjoyed reading, movies and watching western TV shows.

She moved to Premier Estates on December 31, 2013, and stayed active until the last few weeks.

Ina was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Anna Clema, husband Albert, twin daughters, Joan and Jane, brothers, Joe and wife Maxine and Vincent and sister, Alice and husband Ray Wenzl.

She is survived by her son Albert W. and wife Arlene, grandsons and spouses, Eric and Connie, Kevin and Molly and Joel, great-grandchildren, Sarah, Ericka, Max and Alexis, great-great-granddaughter, Bellah and nieces and nephews.  

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 11, 2020, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Steinauer, Nebraska.  Visitation one hour before service at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.  Officiating Father Michael Christensen.  A register book will be available for signing on Thursday, September 10, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Wherry Mortuary, 919 G Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska.  Memorials to family choice.  Online condolences may be left at www.wherrymortuary.com.
