Gilberto (Jr.) Reyes

Gilberto Reyes, Jr. was born to Gilberto and Olivia (Valles) Reyes, Sr. on October 18, 1986 in Omaha, Nebraska.  He was raised in Tecumseh, Nebraska and graduated from Tecumseh High School in 2005.  When he was younger, Jr. loved going to the swimming pool and participating in all sports.  He played football, basketball, baseball and track.  He was a people person and loved being with his friends and family.  Junior loved music and going Mexican dances, watching Husker football, fishing and traveling. His number one love was his family, especially his two nieces.  Jr. was a very loving son, brother and uncle.  He spent a lot of time with his parents who he loved dearly. 

After graduation, Jr. went to Southeast Community College in Lincoln and received his associates degree in Business Administration.  Jr. worked for Black Hills Energy in Customer Service, he and Jonathan Wagner started a guttering business together, Heartland Seamless Gutters, and Jr. was working for Ford Credit in Omaha, Nebraska at the time of his passing.  He was always a very hard worker and had many, many friends.  He will be remembered for his beautiful smile, his loving heart and his willingness to always help others.

Jr. became ill in September and was hospitalized at St. Elizabeth’s in Lincoln where he passed away October 31, 2021 at the age of 35 years and 13 days. 

He is survived by his parents, Gilberto and Olivia, sister, Yesenia Ortiz and husband Javier and nieces, Anahi and Karely, fiance’ Ramona Medina and her children Adriana and Erik Tejeda, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and maternal grandparents Manuela and Juan Valles. 

Jr. was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jose Reyes and Guadalupe Pena.  

Mass of Christian Burial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 5, 2021 at the St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tecumseh, Nebraska with Father Craig Clinch officiating.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Thursday, November 4, 2021 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska.   Rosary will be recited at 9:00 p.m. at the St. Andrew Catholic Church, Tecumseh, Nebraska.

Interment will be in the St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery, Tecumseh, Nebraska.
