Gerald “Ringo” Louis Mayer, 86, of Humboldt, Nebraska was born on July 17, 1936, in Pawnee City, Nebraska to Earl and Helen (Clift) Mayer. He was raised on the family farm northeast of Humboldt and attended country school. Ringo later graduated from Bratton Union Consolidated High School with the class of 1955. After graduation, Ringo served his country in the Army National Guard for many years. Ringo developed many skills over the years by growing up and being raised around farming that would serve him well in the various jobs he had. He was involved in farming, worked as a welder and as an auto mechanic, and droved truck for Cooper’s, Duane Masonbrink Trucking, and for Wilhem Grain. He was a beloved member of the Humboldt community and was known and loved by many. Ringo will be truly missed by those who were blessed to know him.
Ringo passed away on Monday, May 1, 2023, at his residence in Humboldt, Nebraska having reached the earthly age of eighty-six years, nine months, and fourteen days. He was preceded in death by his parents and an Aunt Helen Whitfield and husband Vern.
Ringo is survived by his loving son Todd Mayer of rural Humboldt, Nebraska.
No services are scheduled at this point for Ringo. A private family inurnment will be at the Humboldt (North) Cemetery at a later date.
