Gary Lee Grof

Gary Lee Grof, 66, of Auburn, passed away January 3, 2022 at the Nemaha County Hospital.  He was born to Charles and Clara E. (Conradt) Grof on November 12, 1955 in Syracuse, Nebraska.  Gary grew up on the family farm south of Tecumseh, Nebraska.  His family lovingly devoted their time to taking care of Gary, especially his mother, Clara.  When Clara's health declined, Gary moved to Auburn and became a resident of SENDS.  He enjoyed his many friends there and SENDS residents and staff became an extended family to him.  Gary loved outings like being able to go to Pizza Hut and working in the workshop with his friends. When he was younger, Gary attended St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tecumseh with his family and after moving to Auburn he enjoyed Mass at St. Joseph's Catholic Church as long as he was able to attend.  

Gary Lee is survived by his sister Linda Stewart and husband Jim of North Platte, brothers, Leonard Grof and wife Judy of Beatrice and Stephen Grof of Tecumseh, seven nieces and nephews, ten great nieces and great nephews and many cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Clara and numerous aunts and uncles. 

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Thursday, January 6, 2022 at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska.

Mass of Christian Burial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 7, 2022 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 2221 N. Street Auburn, Nebraska with Father Tim Danek officiating.  Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m.  

Interment will be in the St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery, Tecumseh, Nebraska, immediately following the mass, conducted by Father Craig Clinch.

Memorials may go to the family's choice.
