Evelyn (Lynn) C Hansen, 95, was born to Samuel Franklin and Rosella Tresner on July 23, 1927, at the family ranch outside of Joliet Montana but was raised by Henry (Harry) & Miranda Brophy from the age of 8 months. She passed away on December 8, 2022, at the Pawnee City Assisted Living, Pawnee City, NE. Lynn lived most of her life in Montana, graduating from Joliet Public High School with the class of 1945. She then entered the Army Nursing Corp in Lewistown Montana in January 1945.
She was united in marriage on September 21, 1945, to Carl J Hansen in Roundup Montana and this union was blessed with two daughters and one daughter from her husband’s previous marriage, Vivian Scoles (deceased).
She and her husband had a cattle ranch in Montana where she was a ranch wife until her health gave out. Lynn worked for the State of Montana Extension Service for 19 years then returned to school in 1975 and got her LPN Diploma. She nursed at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings Montana until retirement at about age 70.
Lynn joined the Shining Jewel Theta Roe Girls Club in 1934. In 1944 she became a Rebekah Lodge member where she remained active for 78 years. She was a 4-H leader for 19 years and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Bellows, Pawnee City NE and Mildred (Lynn) McMillan, Lewistown Montana; and Son-in-Law, Gene Scoles (Nancy); 4 grandsons - Shawn Bellows (Kim) Ft. Wayne IN; Jim (Jennifer) Scoles, Helena MT; Tom (Denise); McMillan, Duvall WA; Terry (Christa), McMillan, Delafield WI, and 5 granddaughters – Tracie (Jeff) Wehrbein, Burchard NE; Michelle (Tim), Rebnord, Storm Lake IA; Kim Lund, Florence MT; Charlene Scoles, Tulsa OK; Jennifer (Todd) Beyerlein, Seattle WA. Lynn will also be remembered by 20 Great grandchildren and 8 Great-Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her adopted parents; Husband, Carl J Hansen; Son-in- Law, Kenneth E Bellows Jr; Granddaughter, Jamie McMillan; 4 sisters, Helen Minton, Gertrude Morrison, Mary Ann Gore, Patricia Kungus; and brother, Charles Tresner.
Celebration of Life 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 16, 2022 at Wherry Mortuary, 919 G Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska, visitation one hour before service. Officiating Pastor Connor Barr.
