Erma Ruth (Mueller) Murray

Erma Ruth Murray, 86 of Pawnee City, Nebraska passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at her home with her family at her bedside.  She was born on May 16,1935 in Menno, South Dakota to Albert and Ida (Rempfer) Mueller.

Erma  grew up in Riverside, a suburb of Sioux City, Iowa. In the summers she spent time with her cousins on their farms.

Erma married Thomas A. Murray in Sioux City, IA. To this union five children were born, Debbie, Daniel, Doreen, Dana and Darla.

Erma was a strong women, women of faith and the family’s prayer warrior.  She loved spending time with family. Erma was a 51 year survivor of cancer who loved dancing, camping, playing the organ and accordion and cooking authentic German meals.

She was a member of St. Anthony’s Church in Steinauer, Nebraska. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, State Line Club, Some R Set, AARP, numerous card clubs and 20th Century Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ida, husband, Tom Murray, brothers, Harold, Arlan and Lester Mueller.

She is survived by her children, Debbie (Dale) Klein, Daniel Murray, Doreen Noahr, Dana Murray, Darla (Jerry) Schoville, grandsons, Scott (Kim) Noahr, Leo (Stephanie) Noahr, Matt Noahr, Jason Klein, granddaughter, Amanda  (Micah) Halsey, great grandsons, Isaiah Malachi, Riley and Kaiden Noahr, great granddaughter, Stevie Halsey and great grandson Jacob Halsey and other relatives.

Funeral Mass, 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 3, 2021 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Steinauer, Nebraska.  Officiating Father Michael Christensen.  Rosary 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 3, 2021 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

Visitation on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m. at Wherry Mortuary, 919 G Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska. Interment at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, Steinauer, Nebraska. Memorials to family's choice.  Online condolences may be left at www.wherrymortuary.com.
