Dyann Lynn (Craft) Herr

Dyann Lynn Herr, 70, of Humboldt, Nebraska was born on May 27, 1952, in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Benjamin and Norma (Pinkerton) Hoogendoorn-Craft.  Dyann was raised in Otsego, Michigan where she received her schooling and attended Otsego High School. She worked for years as a clerk and administrative assistant for the State of Michigan.  Dyann moved to Omaha, Nebraska after meeting Roger Herr and on July 31, 1992, the couple were united in marriage in Las Vegas, Nevada.  The couple later moved to the farm north of Humboldt and Dyann began working at Sun Mart in Auburn.  She then worked for the Cardinal Mini Store in Humboldt and was Dispatcher for the Richardson County Sheriffs Department in Falls City. 

Dyann passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at the Nemaha County Memorial Hospital in Auburn, Nebraska having reached the earthly age of seventy years, nine months, and nineteen days.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Ken Craft, granddaughter Makaela Herr, special aunt Mary Jane Resh and special cousin Janet Resh.

Dyann is survived by her husband Roger Herr of Humboldt, NE; children: Tiffini Cumro and husband Dan of Table Rock, NE; Patrick Hatfield and wife Jill of Pawnee City, NE; Nikki Shepard and husband Joe of Des Moines, IA; Shawna Herr of Des Moines, IA; Shane Herr and wife Amy of Des Moines, IS; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother Bill Hoogendoorn and wife Judy, sister-in-law Dawn Craft, and many other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Dyann’s Life will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2023, at the Humboldt Ag Building in Humboldt, Nebraska. Casual attire is requested by the family for those attending the celebration.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family’s choice with a later designation.
