Donna Darlene Thiemann was born to William “Wid” and Burchel (Poland) Shelabarger on November 21, 1934 in Pawnee City, Nebraska. She was raised in Pawnee City and called Pawnee City her home for all but a few months in her life when her family moved for her dad’s work. Donna was involved in band and was a cheerleader for Pawnee City High School and graduated with the Class of 1952.
She was united in marriage to Darrell Clair Thiemann on August 15, 1954 at the United Methodist Church in Pawnee City. This union was blessed with three children, Desiree Dee, Danny Clair and Dwight Craig.
Donna worked as a secretary, dental assistant, medical assistant and as a store clerk for Pawnee True Value. In her spare time, Donna enjoyed cooking, gardening, sitting on the porch with Darrell and watching people as they went by, watching birds and other wildlife, helping take care of others, her pets, especially her dogs and spending time with her family. She and Darrell were longtime members of the United Presbyterian Church in Pawnee City. They had recently moved to Southlake Village Rehabilitation in Lincoln. Donna passed away June 21, 2021 at the age of 86 years.
She is survived by her husband Darrell of Lincoln, son Dwight Thiemann and wife Kelley of Firth, son-in-law, Randy Fritch of Beatrice, five grandchildren, Casey (Trent) Haner, Jessi (Matt) Schwerin, Nicole Thiemann, Mitchell Thiemann and Preston (Rachel) Thiemann, 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Wid and Burchel, parents-in-law, Wilma and Harold Thiemann, sister and brother-in-law, Jody and Glenn Schultz, half-brothers, Ray, Roy and Clyde Shelabarger, half-sister, Willadean (Shelabarger) Blackmore, daughter, Dee Fritch, son, Danny Thiemann and grandson, Nicholas Thiemann.
No services, cremation. Private family burial will be held at the Pawnee City Cemetery at a later date.
