Donald Miller Obituary

   Donald C. Miller was born to Arnold and Ella (Ebeler) Miller on February 12, 1936 in Tecumseh, Nebraska. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith. Don grew up on the farm near Tecumseh and graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1953.   

   He was united in marriage to Merleen Ann Clark on June 24, 1956 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sterling, Nebraska.  To this union three children were born, Sharon, Stephen and Randy.  Don worked for Hahn Produce in Tecumseh in his early years.  He began farming with his dad, Arnold and continued farming his entire life.  He was a life-long devoted farmer and cattle producer. Don was extremely proud of his children and their accomplishments. 

   Don was a member of the FSA County Committee, Johnson County Fair Board, served as trustee and elder for St. John’s Lutheran Church and was very active with 4-H Clubs.  He was a Pioneer Seed Dealer for many years. Don was an avid fan of Husker athletics, especially Nebraska Football and the Chicago Bears, Kansas City Royals and St. Louis Cardinals Baseball. Don thoroughly enjoyed following his kids and grandkids school activities and sporting events.  Don enjoyed many wonderful vacations with his family over the years.  He was a devoted dad, grandpa and great-grandpa to his family for his entire life. 

  Don passed away August 16, 2018 at Gold Crest Retirement Center in Adams, Nebraska.

 He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Pollard of Auburn, sons, Stephen Miller and Rosemarie Markus of Tecumseh and Randy Miller and wife Kerri of Tecumseh, grandchildren, Matt and Jacy Pollard of Syracuse and children, Emry and Grady,  Shanna and Jake Bridges of Sterling and children Bowen and Bentley, Stephanie and D. J. DeMello of Monrovia, IN and children Peyton and Brayden, Kiley and Mike Densberger of Lincoln, Justin and Katherine Miller of Tecumseh and children Stetson and Amelia, Carrie and Taylor Bartels of Lincoln, Stacie and Garrett Collin of Syracuse and Cody Miller of Glendale, AZ, step-grandchildren, Kesha Beethe and fiance’ Marshall Klontz of Seattle, WA and Dustin Beethe of Tecumseh, brother, Ray Miller and wife Patricia of Colleyville, TX and sister, Ruth Leahy and husband Mike of Boulder, CO, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

  Don was preceded in death by his parents and wife Merleen, (Feb. 18, 2017).

 Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 20, 2018 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Tecumseh, Nebraska with Rev. Robert Schermbeck officiating.

 Visitation will be at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska, Sunday, August 19, 2018 from 1-8 p.m.

 Memorials may go to the family’s choice.

 Interment will be in the Tecumseh Cemetery, Tecumseh, Nebraska.
