Dennis Hildebrand

J. Dennis Hildebrand, 83, of Elk Creek, Nebraska, passed away December 30, 2023 at the Johnson County Hospital in Tecumseh, Nebraska.  He was born to Harry and Nellie (Schultz) Hildebrand on December 28, 1940 in Omaha, Nebraska.  Dennis grew up in Omaha where he attended Franklin Elementary and graduated from Omaha Tech High School in 1958.   

He was united in marriage to Debbie (Clester) Nyholm in Garnett, Kansas on March 1, 2009.  

Dennis worked for Western Electric in Omaha for 27 years.  He also enjoyed farming and loved little kids and drove the school bus for Weeping Water Public Schools and Nebraska City Schools.  He lived in the Southeast Nebraska area and worked various jobs.  Dennis lived in Elk Creek for the past nine years.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Nellie, brother Timothy Hildebrand and sister Nikki Cattano.

Dennis is survived by his wife Debbie of Elk Creek, children, Kirk Flemming of Plattsmouth, Tari Rupp and husband Martin of Weeping Water, Jackie Sloan and husband Brian of Boerne, TX and Jennetta Walbridge and husband Ryan of Beatrice, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brother Tom Hildebrand and wife Dena of Table Rock, sisters-in-law, Laurie Yard and husband John of Otoe and Tasey Matchus and husband John of Cedar Creek and nieces and nephews.  

No services are planned.  Inurnment will be at a later date in the Pawnee City Cemetery, Pawnee City, Nebraska.  Memorials may go to the family's choice for later designation.  Online condolences may be left @ www.wherrymortuary.com.
