Denise Earline (Cary) de Koning

Denise Earline de Koning, 65, was born to William and Earline (Martin) Cary in Pawnee City, Nebraska on June 26, 1958. She went home to be with Jesus on December 18, 2023.  

Denise attended numerous schools as a child.  She met and later married Dean de Koning in Liberty, Nebraska on September 9, 1978.  She has three children, Kent, Carrie and Alisha.

She loved gardening and nature.  Denise spent many happy hours working in her garden, where she was happiest.  Denise loved seeing how big she could grow things, including watermelons and her award-winning giant pumpkins.

Her other hobbies included deer hunting and quilting.  She enjoyed sitting around the kitchen table playing cards with whatever company stopped by.  Most of all, she loved her children and grandchildren.  She was very proud of all their accomplishments. 

Denise loved the Lord and showed His love to the people in her life.  She was generous with her time and with the produce that she grew. Denise will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Earline Cary and her brother Ray.  

Denise is survived by her husband, Dean de Koning of rural Pawnee City, children, Kent (Mandy) de Koning of Summerfield, KS, Carrie Snell of Axtell, KS and Alisha (Gary) Lindeen of Summerfield, KS and her grandchildren, Tristan, Caleb, Becca, Montgomery, Kendrew, Logan, Arielle and Treyton.

A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 22, 2023 at the Summerfield Community Center.
